About the Opportunity

Argyle Housing is currently looking for an experienced Leader to join their Bowral, NSW office on a full-time basis. You will be leading the Operations Team, which consists of approximately 6 Tenancy Officers and Administration Officers, who manage tenancies and provide support or advice to clients presenting complex housing needs.

Reporting to the Housing Services Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring your team delivers quality tenancy management, and supporting them to build effective working relationships with tenants, working proactively to ensure the early intervention and prevention of any potential issues.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing coaching and support, conducting regular performance reviews and ensuring KPIs are met;
  • Ensuring your team is adequately resourced, overseeing recruitment and selection activity;
  • Reviewing, managing and reporting on tenant complaints, escalating as required;
  • Reporting on key performance indicators and ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations and legislation;
  • Capturing data and providing reports on vacancy, access and demand activity; and
  • Developing effective relationships with local agencies or support providers, to offer support and referrals to those in housing or personal crisis.

About You

A proactive leader with a strong community services background, you'll understand the range of social or community issues that impact social and affordable housing tenants, with community housing experience highly regarded.

You'll ideally hold a degree or certificate in social welfare, social work or similar, though this is not essential provided you can demonstrate experience managing individuals with complex issues, including Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD), domestic violence and mental health issues. 

Genuinely committed to Argyle's core values and to achieving the best possible results for each tenant, you'll inspire the same drive in your team and be able to support them to meet KPIs and agency targets. 

Whilst a good result for Argyle and their tenants is based on sustained tenancies, you'll also know where to draw the line and be confident dealing with difficult situations, able to act decisively but respectfully when action is needed or a tenancy has to be terminated. You'll understand the need for proactive services and early intervention in preventing a negative outcome, mentoring your team on how to spot the early warning signs of a potential issue and supporting them to build stronger relationships with tenants.
